How could we impress someone with a floral arrangement other than presenting them that beautiful bouquet or display?...by creating that display ourselves.  I know what your thinking; arranging flowers in an eye-catching, and pretty display, is not something that most of us are creative, or artistic enough to accomplish (great florists typically have some schooling).  But, here's an IDEA: why couldn't a flower shop set aside an enclosed portion of their store (temperature controlled) where customers could go, and through the several stages of flower arranging, create an interesting and completely original design of their own.  If the shop is well-schooled on "arranging", then they could have a system wherein the specific plants and materials offered, along with specific (laid out) steps, would ALWAYS lead customers to a pretty end design (allowing for their minds to go wild, and be creative, without worrying about making mistakes).  A couple things to consider: choosing plants that appeal to a variety of people, and ones that live longer because of the 'stressful' situation your putting them in.  This is a big step for a small flower shop.  But the uniqueness and allure of allowing customers to create their own original floral design could create quite a buzz for your business.  Also, this is an easy sell to recipients of these 'arrangements'; because obviously it's more romantic, touching, and meaningful, knowing that someone actually took time and designed their flowers...instead of simply purchasing them.
